So this weekend I went to the Yamaha demo ride to try out the R1, R6, FZ8, and FJR. Here is my opinion about them but granted I have only rode bikes for 3 months and put 4K on my FZ6r.

R1 and R6: When riding the R1 I found that the temperature climbs rapidly under your ass and starts to cook your legs. The R1 seems to put a few more vibes through your hands too and suspension seems hard so hard that when you hit small bumps it makes you fly off the seat or scoot forward if you are holding the tank with your legs. Also the riding position is only good if you’re on a track but crappy in any other situation but that is the same with all super sport bikes. The R6 is more comfortable and the feel of the seat and suspension are better than the. I just found that the Riding positions are just not for me and my 120 miles to and from work a day. But i did like the speed and horsepower of both bikes.

FJR and FZ8: now the FJR felt like a old man bike you have to sit straight up everything is bulky and wide just didn't feel like it was a bike i would ride at 25. The FZ8 would be the one I would choose if there was no such thing as a FZ6R. It seemed to have a softer seat the same riding position and felt pretty good even without all the fenders and windshield.

:D I think the winner would be the FZ6R just fit's me better and feels right i am happy with my purchase and i didn't have to put all that money down for the more expensive models that Yamaha's got.

Thanks for the feedback! Always good to hear others opinions about other bikes. One think I will add though, is that the R1 and R6 suspensions are fully adjustable. Dont know about the FJ or FZ.

i think the FZ8 has fully adjustable front fork & rear suspension like the R6, R1. but, the FZ6R is -not- adjustable in the front. and, the rear can only be adjusted by the spring by way of the number dial.

for canyon-riding suspension setup on the FZ6R, the default stock rear spring of "3" was the correct setting for my weight when i was measured & setup wearing my full gears. (i had on everything- except for my camel bak). i'm 5'6", 148lbs, mildly athletic build...

I apologize on behalf of everyone that totally F*@$ED over your thread y0uki...:surrender:
