Yamaha Canada annouces release of 2011 FZ8 and Fazer 8

F6 cartridge forks with a FZ6R style upper triple to mount the upswept handlebars. PERFECT!

Problem is the brakes, rotors and wheel/axel are not interchangeable with a FZ6R. That means a complete swap of the front end to retrofit a FZ6R. Too expensive.

FZ8R......Nice idea!

I'm assuming the MSRP is in Canadian $. That's the price of an FZ1 here. I like the look and agree that a faired version would be :cool:

According to Yamaha, the 2011 FZ8 has a wet weight of 466.4 lb. while the Fazer 8 has a wet weight of 475.2 lb. The FZ8 is available in Canada in Metallic Black for CA$10,499 (US$10,180) while the Fazer 8 is available in Metallic Black or Vivid Purplish Blue for CA$10,999 (US$10,660).

If the US gets the bike, the price will have to be much better than this. MSRP for the Kawi Z1000 is $10,499 with waayyyy more HP. Even the FZ1 is only $10,290.

love the cafe racer style 6r... how come we don't get it here in the US? :(
