I think we're a bit of a rare breed in the medical field.

I'm a staff pharmacist and the only one in my department of 25 people who rides... or has actually sat on a bike for that matter.

Linux System Administrator and backup admin. Been in IT for 18+ years and I'm tired of it...Not sure what else I want to do, though. And the money doesn't suck.

I actually have quite a few friends i work with who ride. Including the chief of staff for internal med. He's a riding buddy. And the doc i worked with in head and neck who did my surgery. He commuted on a bike.

A lot of the RNs i know hate them. But theyve all seen the road rash side from guys not wearing gear.

That's great to hear that you have a chief of staff and doctor who ride. I've had some people give me the infamous "what the hell's wrong with you, you should know better" look. My perspective, however, is that medical professionals usually command a fair amount of respect and can expand upon that to serve as a great motorcycling role model by riding intelligently, ATGATT, etc.

Was retired from the telecom industry when the corp when belly-up. Now all I do is ride in the warm weather and wait to ride 'em when it's freezing. A long time to wait up here :(

I work as a manager at a pizza hut store making a decent amount and the hours work great for school. Still in school to become a Toyota T-Ten certified mechanic and beginning to get my ASE certs. Going to be taking my brakes cert test soon. Im also looking to get an apprenticeship position by January. :)

Good choice of bike then. Once you get on your 6R you'll be able to get all of those acronym things you look after out of you head :D

Yes I do know what they are. It's funny these days when people talk about what they do at work, acronyms flow into the conversation:)

I got an EMT license in 2008, worked in an adult ER until 2010 and then moved to GA and came into the pediatrics ER side. I have been here ever since acting as an Orthopedics tech, ER tech, MA. I always had interest in cars and motorcycles, no one else in my family did so I have just started cultivating it in the last 5 years. I'm in school for Nursing, and I get a lot of chatter from colleagues, and other nursing students that I'm nuts to have gotten a bike, laid it down with subsequent injuries, and am still getting another. A lot of women think I'm crazy also to do so many unladylike things. Working on my VW, riding, shooting guns. What can I say, adrenaline junkie through and through. I remember my first motorcycle patient was ticked I was cutting his armored jacket off, but hey his forearm bones were sticking out through the sleeve! Like, through the fabric of the sleeve! Still didn't stop me from getting one though.

Interesting to see the dispersement of riders in different fields. My riding course instructor for the M class endorsement was almost 70, rode a giant cruiser and retired from working for an insurance company. My fiancee and his brother both engineers (ME & EE) and have ridden all their lives.
