I could see having something like that for the hot summer time riding and still have the extra protection, However i have to agree there is more protection at a better price out there
Armored shirts like that are more for off road MX riding, not street riding. MX jerseys are little more than thin long sleeve shirts. A lot of riders wear these underneath. Like Mike mentioned, just get a good armored jacket for less money, just as good protection, and a hell of a lot more comfortable. I used to wear one of those (a 661 pressure suit) when I was doing some downhill mtn. biking and BMX racing. Not exactly the most comfortable things in the world. Especially compared to a good armored jacket.
I own one similar to that but cheaper in price. I love mine it gives me some sort of protection when wearing other jackets I may own that are not armored or like what one of the other members said great for summer riding but look around can find much better prices for a similar product.
This looks like a good alternative to a mesh jacket. The Alpinstars is expensive but like Willie Nelson's opinion about divorce " It's expensive because it's worth it".:iconbeer:
