Here we go again. Ok. Check in neutral and on its wheels no rider... side stand ok.

To start with, if you can push the bottom run of the chain up far enough to hit the swing arm you know right away it is way too loose.

Look and see what the manual says for amount of slack. It says 45 to 55mm. that is approx 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 inches, so your target is about 2 inches.... total play. Get a ruler or tape measure and extend it and lock it and stand it up next to the side of the lower run of the chain close to halfway between the two sprockets. Now you are going to grab the chain with your fingers and flop it up and down... not pushing up and down as hard as you can but firmly up all the way and down all the way. The slack is "along centerline " of chain, but it is the same thing as long as you use the same part of the links as your reference... I usually go by the bottom edge of the links. See where the lower edge stops along the ruler at the bottom of the "flop". Then see where the lower edge of the chain is at the top of the flop. The difference is your slack and if it is more than 2-1/4 inches, you need to adjust.

Also, sometimes when you roll the wheel around there is a point where chain is tightest. If there is a tight spot check at that tightest spot. The adjustment is usually small and may be less than one turn of the adjusters. A small change of the adjusters makes a large difference in the slack. Adjust the same on both sides and check tension again when you get done.

I'm assuming you know about the adjuster jam nuts and axle tightening.
