to lower or not to lower?

Eh! I dropped my bike yesterday... I'm 5'4 and only the balls of my feet touch... so when I came to a stop at an angle I couldn't hold the bike. I am so upset and embarrassed! Thank God that there was a man there who could help me lift it back up!
I want to get it lowered, but how much does that cost and how much difference will it make?

WWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY worth it. The link is $100, seat shaving was $90 for me (1 hr. labor). I'm only 5'0" and have much better control and stability at stops.
