Just registered. I bought my very first bike today, and forums are usually some of the best places to get and share info when you needed it, so here I am.

I'm as noob as it gets when it comes to riding. I'm taking the Apex class this Friday through Sunday. Really looking forward to it.

Anyways, after spending the last couple months researching what my ideal "first bike" would be, I settled on the FZ6R, and bought a new 2011 in the Reddish Copper. Delivery set for Thursday.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi. Hi.

Hello from Ontario Canada. The 6R is my second bike, I've had it about a month, put 2200 kms on it so far and love it. You will too, but seems how this is your first bike, I would be very careful with the throttle until you have some put in some saddle time. This 'little' 600 has alot more power than any of the traditional beginner motorcycles out there. :D

Yeah, I debated long and hard to get a smaller bike, but at my size (6'1", 240) even my extremely responsible friends said it's nuts to get something smaller such as a Ninja 250. I've got the heaviest foot in the land when it comes to cars, but I have this real aversion to dying or maiming myself so I plan to be EXTREMELY careful on this thing.

If you see some grandma nursing her FZ6R around Virginia over the next few months, it's acxtually me :p

WELCOME...you wont know it but you chose a perfect first bike that actual has some style and is easy and forgiving to ride. Especially if you've never ridden before. GOOD choice on the classes!! sweeping turns get people in the beginning to...not a turn onto another street but a long sweeping curve.....

not my first bike but definately my favorite!
 
Welcome to the forum and you probly couldn't of picked a better bike. It's low thru mid power will give you more control when you turn the throttle not like a SS where you have keep the rpm up but dont get too confident(cocky) at first if you roll that throttle all the way this bike will surprise you and as time goes on that surprise will turn into a big old grin and you'll say like I do "I love this bike"
