Second pony in the garage

Well all, I was finding the trigger last fall but I held off. I was not successful doing that this year.

I am keeping Sweet Caroline as my daily errand and commuting bike. However, I just received a call from my dealer that Caroline's big sister is now ready for pickup. I paid $6k down and financed the rest at 2.99% for 5 years, which I think I will be able to have paid off in three.

The new addition to my family will come home tomorrow morning since I work till the dealer closes today. I looked at the FJR but the load capacity isn't what I wanted. I looked at the Concours but along with the fjr the seat needed an upgrade. Some of you already know via Facebook....

I am getting a dealer leftover 2013 Triumph Trophy SE in blue. On the test ride she drops into corners way faster than you would think and has good acceleration. The seats are AMAZING in regard to comfort also.

For those that don't know also, these two will be joined by another bike hopefully in the not too distant future as I also have a 2014 GSXR-600 incoming.

As far as motorcycling and work goes, this has been a good year.

You just won a brand new bike for free so you went and got another?? I think I am going to move in with you, between having all these bikes to ride and the cheapest service rates I have ever heard of I think it would be good. I will just have to buy heated everything

all sport bikes too, I would have thrown a cruiser in this time
Go for a Spyder next my brother has one and they are a blast, be much better during winter time too!

LOL!! I know, Motorcycling has been good to me... Along with winning that Leather AGV Topanga Jacket two years ago from Sport Rider magazine!

I asked my wife about a Spyder and she refused.. so ok, on I went.

She wanted a cruiser, but when I was looking at the weight capacities they are frickin ridiculous.. I will not buy a HD because I think most of what you are paying for with them is the name.. The Star Venture or Kawi 1700 Vulcan was of interest, but looking at the owners manuals, their load capacity is actually less than the 6R. I forget the Star amount but the Kawi actually had a limit of like 397 pounds!!!!

Also, once she sat on the Trophy, she was in love with it! LOL

Congrats on both new bikes Greg! I'm jelly! Maybe someday, you did inspire me though. I get my bike inspected at a Victory/Polaris dealership right by my house and when I went for inspection yesterday they had raffle tickets. The grand prize is 2 count them 2 Polaris 570 4 wheelers and a trailer for both. I bought 2 tickets, one for me and one for the wife ($5 a pop couldn't buy too many). We were just talking about getting a 4 Wheeler so this would be awesome. Unlikely, but awesome. Rub some luck my way.

I agree with your spread of flavors, I think you will find the right session for each one. I agree on passing on the HD thing. I see all those HD guys out there, when I am the only sportbike guy, but its just not me - hey, I cruise on my sportbike all the time, its not like you have to go fast, but on an HD your only option is going slow.

I will post more in better lighting later. Took my wife out tonight after I put on about 100 miles to get used to it. Her first time on a bike and she is hooked. She loves it.

Sure does look nice, great color, and plenty of room for stuff, probably more than my cruiser. I am surprised your wife said no to the spyder. IMO (I put about 600 miles on my brothers, including some yesterday id say they are about 80% as fun to ride but about 100% safer. No more worrying about sand, oil, high side, low side etc. so you really push it in the canyons. And they handle like you would not believe. All you have to do on those is watch out for the dreaded cager! I guess its the stigmata but I don't care what other people think especially people who never been on one lol. Anyway I SOOO agree about HD, they make some cool bikes but I would never pay twice as much for something that will last half as long because its "cool". You can buy a metric for pretty much every style of bike they have.

Congrats, they are nice bikes, but reliability ... idk, not sure about this particular model but there are some issues that I find interesting that some of their bikes have (oil leaks, etc).
