well...i regret to inform everyone i have to sell my blue beauty..money is too tight and i just got orders to japan im going to okinawa, i would take the bike with but i did the math and it would cost 2500 or so to get all the insurance emission test and light conversion kits to ride it for 3 years and have to pay another 2500 to "americanize it" (sounds like a disease) what really ticks me off is that i just got everything i wanted for the bike like pipes, tuned, tires and gears spent so much time and money only to sell it to some kid who wont appreciate what has been put into the beautiful machine...on top of that okinawa is way behind on the motorcycle curve from what i hear. at best i could get a scooter and join one of the many scooter gangs i hear about swarming a car and redlining..all i can do now is for the next three years is save up cash and drop a bill on a new bike when i return state-side get my "dream-bike". i want to thank everyone for the support and advise i have recieved on here you are a great people, i always get better advise from strangers than i do from my own family and i will return for future advise

i know ive just always had a bike since i was seven years old its kinda hard to just stop for three years
Have you thought about putting your bike in storage? There might be a storage place that will cut you a good military discount especially if you can put a good sized up front payment or put it on auto pay.
im thinking about getting a scoot and beef it up with a big bore and pipe bigger carb and what not...yes i am staying on the forums i like you guys too much to leave and i thought about the storage but the cheapest storage here is 55/month and i dont have a guarantee that it will still run when i get back and i would much rather save up and pay cash on a bike instead of get a loan im lucky i sold it and still came out on top of the loan
i will be there for 3 years maybe more and oh yes i will definitively post pics of my scoot cause the ladies like it cause it very fast!

If I were you I'd sell it. When in Oki you'll get Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) on top of your regular pay. If you're married you'll get COLA-With Dependents (which almost doubles that) AND if you live out in town instead of on-base, you'll get Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA), which is even MORE $$$!
You'll be making so much money you won't know what to do with it, trust me. And If you save it you could get yourself a brand new bike or 2 with no problem at all. Just my $0.02.
PS: Oki is a very beautiful place. The island is surrounded by cristal clear ocean and the Okinawans are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Great place for children to grow up as well, in case you have kids. Make sure you take scuba classes while you're there. That's one thing I did not do and really regret. You'll love Oki :thumbup:

oh i have a plan for my rehabilitation to separation haha. hopefully i will meet a nice lady while im there. i also have a plan for my new bike fund its just one of them things ya know..you just got it and got it to the way you like it and now have to part ways like a kid going to college but in my case im not happy its gone
my dream bike is and always will be the zx-6r i grew up on kawi's and yamaha and so far i just love what they did to it so thats what i am getting
