How many coats? Any base coats before the top coat or did you rub the bar down with degreaser first?
I was thinking that too, but didn't want to say anything, ha ha. If I was going to do that (and I may on my Triumph), I'd mark with a Sharpie where the controls stop and where the risers go and then take the bars and controls off and tape up just from the Sharpie marks out to the ends and the riser area. Then you can coat the underside too and shouldn't have fitment issues. Why got through all the trouble masking all that off. Takes all of 5 minutes to take the bars off. lol. I guess if that stuff is thicker than paint (like mine) that would probably be a good idea so you don't have fit issues.
Kinda weird to say, but I really enjoy taping/masking stuff off for paint. Give's me a challenge. Also, I'm not sure how well the stuff would hold up when tightening the controls back up. I don't think it turned out to bad.Why got through all the trouble masking all that off. Takes all of 5 minutes to take the bars off. lol.
