New 09 FZ6R owner! Few questions

Well background story I started on tHe 250 and this thing is a monster compared to it! But a few things confuse me
1. The front cowls and black trim pieces along with the speedo wiggle and don't feel solid. Is it normal?
2. How do I pick the bike up to tighten the chain!!! There's no spools!!!
3. Is there supposed to be a light above the headlight or is that just for show?

Probably not. The speedometer might move a small amount, and vibrate between 3000-4000 RPMs enough that you'll post here and ask if anyone else has seen that (nope, you're the only one), but not the cowls.

2. How do I pick the bike up to tighten the chain!!! There's no spools!!!

A rear stand that doesn't require spools. Or buy spool adapters (look around, you'll find some).

3. Is there supposed to be a light above the headlight or is that just for show?

No, there isn't supposed to be a light; but you can make one if you read all of the related threads on it, start reading here maybe..

First off, congratulations on the new bike.

By wiggle, do you mean vibration on the road? Or is does it have movement when you touch it? The black trim has a bit of give to it, but the blue cowling parts should feel solid. Have you checked for loose bolts?

2. How do I pick the bike up to tighten the chain!!! There's no spools!!!

Your options here are either to buy a center stand, buy spool adapters, or most stands come with paddles to lift by the swing arm.

3. Is there supposed to be a light above the headlight or is that just for show?

In the XJ6, it's an orange park lamp activated by turning the key past "off" to "park". It wasn't included in the North American FZ6R. The mystery button by the turn signal switch is also a hold-out. It's the location the hazard flasher switch on the XJ6 and the FZ6.

congrats on the new bike, looks like most everyone has got you covered. I would recommend if your like me and oil change and chain lube is about the only maintenance your going to do on it yourself get the pack jack or whatever its called. i have one works fine.
