Have you taken the dash apart to make sure nothing is broken or missing? My 2009 FZ6R has under 5,000 miles and just recently the speedometer started to rattle when riding. Anyone know how to fit this besides sticking some foam underneath it. The foam looks sloppy.
Thanks Community!
do you have a hi-res version of this?
Google image search for "engineering flowchart wd40"do you have a hi-res version of this?
Mine used to do that too (3200-4000RPMs), but I noticed the other day that it stopped. I guess after 22K miles my bike is broken in?Mine does the same at 4200 RPM's. It's within the trim pieces under and around it, not the speedo itself. I have yet to fix mine. Although, I have a few ideas the next time I get the chance.
While it is rattling, can you SAFELY use your left hand to put light pressure on the various plastic pieces of fairing and trim to see if the pitch changes or goes away. You may be able to narrow down exactly where the rattle is coming from, then you may be able to use minimal felt or foam or (even caulk - applied carefully with toothpick)to buffer the offending plastic. It is just the speedometer that rattles, not the digital display. I like the duck-tape flow chart but don't think that will work for the problem haha. I will try to look for a part missing or loose connection. If I cant get an easy fix I will probably just stick with stuffing a little black foam underneath the speedometer.
Any other ideas?
