More Hot Weather questions

So we are having a nice little heat wave this weekend. Wondering what do you see for your temps on your bike when it's hot out? It was only 96 today and the lowest reading on the gauge was 199.. Topped at 210 while stopped in the shade.

most of the time between 189-210 depending if im going or stopped. Today it was 105 when i was out and at a stop it said 220

I hit 215 on a cold day haha I'll give you a correct temp after sat and sunday when i have an hour ride from work home at 6 pm it should be blazing then

Yeah, mine is anywhere from 189-220, depending on how hot it is and how much stop/go vs cruising. Stop/go in hot wx is when I hit my hottest ever, I think I saw like 228 or so last summer.

Nothing to worry about unless you see the high temp warning and you start to smell brats cooking on the grill!

I think you are fine until you get up around 240 or 250. 212 is when the fans kick on, and they will blow until I think down to 196. Same on my FZ1.

I belive the owners manual says that it will indicate to you when its too hot. turn it of asap

To my knowledge it only does so at extreme tempatures around 270-280, the manual considers too hot of tempatures around 240-250 like fzwhite said.

I just hit the highway for the first time today! yay!! (video soon on youtube) and I was in full gear lmao, MY temp was about 104 outside that is, and my bike was at around 215-220 pretty normal. if you think you are having issues though, try changing out your anti-freeze maybe you have an air bubble or something. we just did the oil last night thats why I took it out today, even though it was 104 I think the bike did great with the new oil, i am going to flush the anti-freeze though and put new in soon too.

it was 104 here today, a New all time June record here. Took the bike out for about an hour and a half. Bike temp reached 210 once while stopped at a long light. That's about it today. That's also very normal.

My bike stays at 180 on the highway and when stopped at a light it can reach up to 214. I live really close to the beach too and the weather hardly gets hotter than 90. Once I get home it goes way up to 220 right when I get off.

Like Cezell, above, I'm typically about 180-185 on the highway, about 190-214 around town. In yesterday's heat here in Atlanta, and today they're saying 105, we'll see...

I'm planning, Like FazerWest, to flush my cooling system (which is a serious job, from what I'm reading), and I'm planning on using *this* stuff:
