aww shucks thanks marthy. so what else will be needed? i've learned that a mid-pipe will be needed. is that something i can get from you as well (i'm not sure what type to get), a fuel controller even though it's a slip-on (i sometimes read mixed opinions on this), mounting hardware, a means to weld it on, etc. i've never installed any exhaust hardware so i'm playing 21 questions.I can make one for you.
Much easier than that. You ship me your exhaust, PayPal the $$$ and wait. If HP is not your ultimate goal you can get the Viper & DBKiller without PCV. Work fine and much cheaper.aww shucks thanks marthy. so what else will be needed? i've learned that a mid-pipe will be needed. is that something i can get from you as well (i'm not sure what type to get), a fuel controller even though it's a slip-on (i sometimes read mixed opinions on this), mounting hardware, a means to weld it on, etc. i've never installed any exhaust hardware so i'm playing 21 questions.
i thought this new carbon-slip-on you just finished was your only slip-on option? i'm just looking for your least expensive options as all i want to do is change the look and sound. i didn't think i'd have to ship the entire exhaust for one of the slip-on options.Much easier than that. Unfortunately the 6R doesn't use a simple slip-on, it's a one piece exhaust can. In order to use a slip-on you need to cut, weld and fit a slip-on. There 3 way to do it. 1. Two Brother = close 1K, Marthy for around $500 or you can just butcher the stock can to make more noise...i thought this new carbon-slip-on you just finished was your only slip-on option? i'm just looking for your least expensive options as all i want to do is change the look and sound. i didn't think i'd have to ship the entire exhaust for one of the slip-on options.
would it be possible to just pay for the can, have you cut it to fit a CS, weld a mid-pipe on, and ship that to me? then all i'd have to do is cut my black box off and weld what you sent me on to the bike?Unfortunately the 6R doesn't use a simple slip-on, it's a one piece exhaust can. Better go get some lottery tickets... if you win buy yourself an exhaust. The odd of the collector to fit at the right spot are very slim and will end up with sonething that doesnt work or fit just to save $250.00would it be possible to just pay for the can, have you cut it to fit a CS, weld a mid-pipe on, and ship that to me? then all i'd have to do is cut my black box off and weld what you sent me on to the bike?
That sounds EXACTLY like the TBR, for a hell of a lot less for the FZ6R. Great job Marthy!
just trying to figure out my options, that's all. i saw the price of $250 a few weeks back which is around the price range of a typical slip-on so i'm just trying to figure it out. slip-ons don't typically require a remodeling of the exhaust so a final price of around the $250 is what i was expecting. like i said, i'm just trying to figure out my options since $500 is out of my price range.Better go get some lottery tickets... if you win buy yourself an exhaust. I agree. The 6R sucks in that department. If you are patient and have few tools the 2003-5 R6 headers is an option. You can get them for less than nothing but they're a b%$# to bend to clear the oil pan!!!just trying to figure out my options, that's all. i saw the price of $250 a few weeks back which is around the price range of a typical slip-on so i'm just trying to figure it out. slip-ons don't typically require a remodeling of the exhaust so a final price of around the $250 is what i was expecting. like i said, i'm just trying to figure out my options since $500 is out of my price range.
