New can sounds great.. too bad I can't get over my bike being down to ship you exhaust

marthy, the black box is basically junk after you cut it off, correct? i've also done the 5 min mod on it so i figure it's basically junk once it gets shipped to you and you do your thing with it with the slip-on (after i save up of course). couldn't i just cut the box off flush at where the pipe and the black box meet and ship you the rest of it so that i can avoid shipping you something that will eventually be thrown away?
Yup, cut it off at the seam just behind the box. Think there is a weld there. Saves about 10 lbs.
hell yeah. now that's what i'm talkin' 'bout!

yep... smaller box and less weight... mines still sitting on my porch... should use it for a door stop or something... lol

Thanks Scoot. For dur cut off the can at the 3'' weld mark to save $$$.
Turn around are quick. Its shipping time mostly. If your local and I have a stock exhaust on the shelve it takes about 1/2 hrs. 1 if you plug a PCV

I'm gonna be getting a-hold of you in the near future Marthy! Definitely digging your exhaust! Any idea how long I'll be out of service shipping from Wyoming (82937)? I get my bonus at the end of June. (I'll definitely be ordering the package).

I just want to give future Marthy Group member the heads up. Fly N Cycle has only 20 Viper can on the shelve. Next order is for sometime in fall. So if you want a Viper hurry up! I'll try to find other cans that fit but most that likely the new Carbon can or maybe the Danmoto can that Rabbitman use for his FZ1 are the 2 other solid option. I can get the Danmoto custom made to fit the FZ6R, just need to get a few of them at the time.

Other that what's going on in my personal life... other bad news.
The Carbon Fiber can that I was hoping to be the next big thing since slice bread won't work. I had one out for test on my buddy's FZ8 and it pretty much melt the thing apart!
The can rip off in the seams and the end cap got all piss off from the heat. Mne end up ok but I didn't run it that hard that much. I end up putting the Viper back on over the weekend for my ride with my wife... DBK is easier on her.
So my last hope is the Danmoto tri oval. Waiting on a response from them. I talk to them earlier this year and they were ok to custom made one of there can to my size. Might cost a little extra but well... Since the Viper can is in short supply I need another option.

Trying another option. If some of you remember the Danmoto try oval that Rabbitman got for his FZ1, black anodize aluminum with stainless steel cap. They come in 18" long only I think. I've been going back and forth with them for a bit because I want to find another option than the Viper can since supplies seams to be an issue. So I finally made a deal with them. The can will be customize for our application. Overall length will be similar to the Viper can. Minimum order was 5. I should get them within few weeks to test them and most important, if everyone likes it!
It will cost a bit more since it's custom made but not more than what we actually pay for the Viper can. There's a nice DBKiller available with the can that insert inside the inlet... no hardware required!

Of course! I will bang one on the 6R as soon as I get one here. I could buy one standard size and cut it too fit but I just almost drop 1G for 5 cans and DBK... no more play $$$ for a while!!! That was minimum order...

A little reminder here for people shipping exhaust back and forth. Size of the box matters!!! This is why I always strongly encourage people shipping me exhaust to cut off the big can. If you can't cut off the big can is no big deal but at least try to get the smallest box as possible... cut the bigger box to fit!
I feel sorry for one of my last customer that look like she just show up with her exhaust at FedEx. FedEx and UPS are charging fees to packed on top of paying triple for the box.
Doing a little bit of the foot work will make the difference between paying $30 or $75 for shipping.
