First off if I lived in Hawaii I'd have two pairs: flip flops and running shoes. However I live in Alaska and travel, so I have (if memory serves me):
4 pair dress shoes (3 black, 1 brown)
6 pair of various sneakers (gym shoes, street shoes, running shoes)
2 pair of work boots (new ones and old ones)
2 pair of motorcycle boots (tall Sidi's and short Shift)
1 pair of felt pack snow boots
1 pair of snow boarding boots
1 pair of Xtra Tufs (rubber boots)
1 pair of hiking boots
2 pair of flip flops
3 pair of other sandals
1 pair of roller blades
1 pair of softball cleats
1 pair of golf cleats
26 total
My problem is I don't throw out my old shoes when I get new ones, hence all the dress shoes and sneakers. I have a hard time letting go.
