Just want to get this off my chest, as it's been bothering me all night.

I was on my way home from work yesterday and was passed by an ambulance and patrol car going the other direction, lights and sirens blaring. So I slowed down. As I came around the curve, I saw a dozen more patrol cars and an SUV on its side in the intersection. Later in the evening I found out on the news that it was a 21 year old male that was drunk and rolled his SUV at 5 PM. A 10 year old child was thrown from the vehicle and is in critical condition with life threatening injuries. A 16 year old child was also injured in that vehicle.

Thankfully no other vehicles were involved. Prayers go out to those children and their families.

However, if I would have been just a few minutes earlier leaving work, I could have been involved in this accident, as I cross this intersection daily.

Someone was looking out for me yesterday. We all know the risks involved in riding, just another grim reminder to stay alert and arrive alive!

thankfully, indeed...

so, being late sometimes has its merits too, right? well, spoken by a very non-punctual person... (me) :)

I glad to hear you adverted disaster!

Too bad we can't say the same about those poor kids he sujected his stupidity on. I hope they make a speedy and full recovery.

I have absolute ZERO tollerance for drinking and driving. Have lost way too many friends to drunk drivers.

It's bad enough this guy put his own life on the line but he was supposed to be the "responsible adult" in the situation and now some families are going a one of a parent's worsed nightmares.

I hope they at leased throw the book at him!

Too bad they have out lawed public flogging. The parents should be allowed to tear him a new one..
:rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant:

Sorry for the little rant folks I'm just a little passionate about this topic.

WTF?! really? Prayers out for the children.. and I also pray for the driver, that he gets atleast 10 years in prison.

Hey what intersection??

This was at the intersection where Lakeshore T's at South Lakeshore.

BTW, when are you going to have your bike back in town? We need to do some riding, either early morning or later in the evening when it is "cooler."

I just replied that answer on another post haha.. After the 4th for sure. I need to get service done here. Do you prefer Alleman or Bossier Yamaha?

Early morning would be best IMHO.. cooler.. it's too muggy in the evening.

Yeah, early morning is good. What service do you need done? I haven't dealt with Bossier Yamaha, and the service charges at Alleman are expensive. I do my own work, so we could probably get it done.

The first service! I've been trying NOT to drive it too much until I brought it back here. The dealer where I'm originally from I don't trust nor like. So i've been waiting until work and holidays chill..

I had Alleman do the first service, but everything else I have done myself with the exception of the new tires. Get a price quote from Alleman and Bossier and take it to the cheaper place if you want. Otherwise, it's just basically changing the oil and checking all the other stuff.

Yeah I'll check on that as soon as I can. The people at Bossier seem a bit more on the customer friendly side. I've bought parts for my Polaris there a few times. Nice people.

Good to know!
