I just did a search on the site for gel grips and basically found nothing, so looking for input on this question. I had my bike out for an hour ride for the first time at freeway speeds and noticed that the almost imperceptable vib in the seat did create a little numbness in my hand on the grip. Anyone else notice this, and are there gel grips that will reduce/eliminate this?

I ride 120 miles a day 60 miles to work and 60 miles back and i have had the same exact problem but i just got used to it. I know they have gloves with gel inside of them but I just don't want to spend $150 for gloves. i guess i could try the cramp buster i mean its only 5 bucks.

Pro Grips + gel gloves (I have $40 Olympias) + Crampbuster for the win.

I have the ProGrip 719s and they helped a little bit.

$15 from Motorcycle-Superstore.com

You might also try using more of your lower body by gripping the tank with your legs (thigh master Suzanne Somers comes to mind :P) and your core muscles to hold you up - thus lessening your hand grip pressure. A way to check is you should be doing 'ok' signs with your hand and your shoulders should feel light.

Yeah buddy. I have some tourmaster gauntlets with gel. The crampbuster is well worth the money towards the end of a day's ride.

I ran into (well, not really, but you know what I mean) a guy who had installed Progrip 714's on a V-Strom and swore by them. A local shop can get them for me in three days so I'm going to give them a try. Closed end so I'll have to cut the ent to refit the bar ends but I don't think that's a biggie. I'll post again when I can make a recommendation on how they work to reduce vibs.

714's feel softer but I can still feel a little buzz in the throtle hand, but no hand going to sleep around town. Haven't had them out for an hour run on the hwy yet, that will be the real test and I'll post again after I do that (probably within the next week). The vibe I was getting was hardly even noticable, but enough of the right frequency to numb my hand . . so I don't think the 714's need to do very much to have a positive effect. I'll let you know.
