I started my bike today it's 10° f outside with snow. I was running for a while and raving up to 8k or so just letting it idle then kept off and on with the idle. It got to 200° f and the bike shutoff and the engine light came on. But then I turn the key off and on and she fired right up. Then I let it run for a little long and killed it. What do you guys think? Show I be concerned?

I'm half wondering if the coolant froze somewhere in the system.
How quickly did the temperature rise?? Maybe the computer didn't detect coolant flow?? Or too quick a rise in temperature?? and the computer shut down the engine to protect it from damage??
Do you have a hydrometer to test the coolant?? If not, I think you can pick one up for under $5.00
Depending on the age of the coolant it may not be able to handle 10 degrees...

coolant over flowing is a for sure sign of it freezing up...Just change the oil and the coolant was overflowing
