Been a member lurker here since last season while shopping for a new bike. Ended up with a Triumph Street Triple, which I love dearly. Alas, this year was time to expand the stable and I got my Streety a girlfriend - a gorgeous 2011 FZ6R.

Came with 4700 km, a center stand, heated grips, Givi luggage rack and a "Tail of the Dragon" sticker (horsepower boost!).

Here's a pic of what she looks like now:

And a GIMPed image below of where she might be headed. Still unsure if steampunk gears will be gold (*love* Yamaha black/gold scheme) or silver/brushed steel. What do you guys think?

Hello Branka,

Like the gears graphics. Nice to do something unique.

I'm wondering why you got an FZ6R as a companion bike to the Stripple. They seem to overlap a fair bit in category (size, displacement, ergos, etc.), although I'm aware that the Stripple is the sportier of the two in most ways.

I'm in Toronto as well, right downtown. Where are you located?

congrats, I agree though very similar bikes. Just naked vs. fairings with the naked being faster. My nephew has one and if it had fairings I probably wouild have bought one. Either way be safe on them both :)

Hi! Awesome to hear from To. I'm actually in Mississauga (To impostor :P).
I got the FZ6R for a different location. Will eventually be shipping it to Europe to have as my summer bike. Another Striple would have been great, but $$$-ly not an option. So, FZ6R was the next best for my needs and so far I love it! It will give me better wind protection (esp once I get a touring windscreen) and I love having more bodywork to play Martha Stewart with :P.

Looks great!

Hi Branka,
Took your advice and joined the forum.
So far so good. I went out today, the weather held out this afternoon.
Don't work to hard. ;)
Take care, Zoë ;)

Great to see you here! I went out for a bit too, nothing too exciting. Just lovely to see all the other bikes out yesterday :).... We get a single dry day over 5 C, and everyone's skipping work/school to ride. Love it.
