Handlebar swap help

Hey i was just wondering if anyone could explain how I go about removing the controls off my stock bars. I was going to replace them with woodcraft clip ons but I'm not sure how I go about swapping the controls between bars. I know other threads have been made reviewing them. But none have gone into detail about removing the controls

Any help would be appreciated

Its pretty easy man. I did mine on a saturday it took a hour or two to put fz1 bars on. If u yake the bar loose first you can just loosen controls after u remove grips & slide them off whole.with clip ons u will have to lower the bike thru the forks. If u search the mods forum a few guys have post instructions.

Im about to do the same thing to my bike. I know how to lower the front end and raise the fork tubes to attach the clip ons, but the controls was what i was wondering about. they literally just slide off once the grips are off?

OEM bars have hole in them that locate the throttle side control where a dimple inside the control goes into the hole. You have to open the shell enough to free the dimple/locator pin. For the new bars, either drill a hole or cut off the locator pin.

The control is just a few screws so its pretty easy. FZ1 bars have the mounts for the bars ends but you have to file off a nub on the bar and drill a hole for the throttle side control.
