I was wondering if anyone has tried flipping the handle bars upside down and turning them so that instead of rising, they would make the controls sit lower. In my head it would counter act the handle bar risers. so this would be similar to clip-ons. what do u guys think?
I did use the SEARCH FUNCTION... and i saw both of those threads... but the first one u linked is not talking about the same thing I am... the second one is but there is no conclusion to whether it works or not...
I still don't know if there has been a conclusion. One issue you will run into is the control housings have a peg that goes into a hole in the bottom of the handle bars to keep them from rotating. You will either have to drill new holes or get rid of the peg...I wouldn't recommend taking the peg off. Another issue is that with my bars (Renthal Ultra Lows) with them rotated back, they hit the tank. It is the controls that limit that. Clearance with the fairings is going to be another issue. Buying stuff cheap to see if it would work is the best thing to try. If you can't get it to work, you aren't out a bunch of money...Good Luck!!
Try it and see. I don't think anyone here has done it yet. Talked about it, but never did flip them. You can twist the bars now and get them a little lower, but them the tank to hand clearance becomes an issue.
ok guys, i tried it today... it will not work. it simply bends too far down. i flipped the bar around and even without the controls on it, it will hit. so i just adjusted them down a little from stock and it suits me. sucks it wont work tho.

I didn't think that it would work, especially since if you rotate the bars a little, they hit the tank, and the clearance is close. Thanks for checking it out though, you could have been on to something if it worked.
