I did the same thing, I've got another one in the mail now.
 
Damn, that sucks. Looks like it's been seriously used. Is that in the future for mine, with normal wear and tear, or were you seriously cranking down it?

My incident occurred while cleaning someone else's chain - I was spinning the rear tire with my right hand, holding the brush with my left with the bristles at the top. I don't know if my hand got tired of holding the brush tight or what but the brush rolled in between the chain and sprocket and snapcrunch! It was over :(

They should really make these out of metal, I'd pay the extra money.
 
Hey I don't see a problem...there are four sides to a chain and it divides evenly now :D. But seriously I found a chain brush that isn't plastic that looks like that (two brushes) and I honestly don't see the advantage of the third brush, is there?
