Going on a group ride today

I found a motorcycle club here in Indianapolis that's going on a group ride today and they invited me to join them. It's about a 2 1/2 hour ride so i'm hoping to meet some new people and enjoy myself. Not sure how many people are going but will update later...

Have fun, don't be too judgemental. I ride with a couple of others once in a while, but adv folks are usual different from the average street folks. But we have fun on two wheels in almost ANY situation, and there is a lot anyone can learn from the different riding styles.

ive done group rides with the local charity of over 1000 bikers in a single group and the cops block off the intersections along the way so we have right away all the way to our destination. its really cool. but i usually ride in packs of 5 to 10, other than back and forth to work i dont ride alone very often. group riding is alot of fun. watch out for retards doing wheelies in traffic and swaying out of their stagger. and make sure someone experienced is sweeping the rear and the leader knows where the hell their going lol.. nothing like having to stop 10+ riders and try to explain you missed the turn off and you need to try and reassemble the group and backtrack.

Well I've been back from my ride for a while now but was so spent when I got home that I passed out for a bit. I sure did have a lot of fun today. We as a group left the city and headed out towards the middle of nowhere for a great spirited ride through some long straights and twisty's. The Fz6r put in some serious work today and represented well amongst it's peers(super sports). There was a cruiser or two on this trip also. With hardly any car traffic where we went the roads were completely open. In the city we were in tight formation, while out in the country on the straights and twisty's we spread out a bit with different riders riding their own ride. I reset my trip meter before we left. We rode about 170 miles which still surprises me because we were only gone a couple/few hours with multiple stops but again, the ride was very spirited.


The club that invited me along was very friendly and professional. I consider myself lucky to have rode with them and if invited will do so again.

What are the adv folks?

Those of us who ride long distances. Like across the country, to Alaska, South america, and are not stuck on the pavement. Dirt, gravel, fire roads, what ever... Just a different sort from the average urban rider. Not bad, just different.
