Don't know if this had anything at all to do with my bikes problems, but I bought a billet gas cap from a company called gascapdude. Nice looking cap, only around $40 and says it's vented. The vent doesn't work worth a $h1t on the FZ6R. When my bike died I started to open my gas cap and it was under tremendous pressure. So much so that I thought the cap may shoot off. So I put the stock back on. My problem seems as though it's probably my cam chain tensioner (CCT) so shouldn't be at all related, but irregardless it could cause damage. If I had been able to run the tank lower it may have collapsed my tank. I know a bunch on FZ6 forum have got them and not sure if they've had issues. Nismos14 bought one for his GSXR750, but didn't install yet. Don't do it! Maybe yours will vent better, but I doubt it. Guess if I decide to change it out I will have to get a Vortex or similar cap and pay $$$ for it.
