Not sure? I would put a jack under the engine to make sure it does fall off. LOL Does it comes with longer screws? it should...
Actually, they only hold the transmission on. The engine is attached separately.

As per this diagram, you have nothing to worry about falling in the tank. It is a single assembly that is installed on a lip that is on the outside of the tank. The only thing that can fall in the tank would be if you dropped one of the screws in there. To remedy that problem, just stick a clean rag in the opening of the tank to prevent dropping anything down in it.
