gas cap condensation

Filled up yesterday and noticed some condensation on the surface of the lock around the keyhole. It smells like gas. I have noticed it maybe half the times I fill up. I don't want to get a rusty or stuck lock. Maybe I will lube the lock.

Anyone had issues with condensation and/or sticky gas cap locks? It is not a problem for me yet and I certainly want to prevent it from becoming a problem.

Completely normal. Don't worry about it

Same thing that causes condensation anywhere else i suppose...air saturated with water or gas vapor and differences in temperature?

Just water in the air/gasoline that gets heated up and evaporates and collects on the gas cap

Never had it on TOP of the lock where you put the key in... If you open the actual gas cap you will notice a hole on the outer ring. That goes to the little tube below the bike. When you get condensation, it is supposed to collect around there and drip out the tube below the bike.
