So is this bike not popular enough to have extensive mods out there like the CBRs and R6s? Or am I just wrong..? Seem like there are more options for those bikes.
Although I did find the post with all the aftermarket parts and lists.
So, to clarify, you're asking why two super sports introduced in the 90's, are more popular than and have more aftermarket support, than a sport touring bike released in 09?
that would be it... and it was a complete redesign, so not much of reuse except simple things like turn signals, tank pad, etc... lol...
those of us that bought in '09 had to wait for luggage, exhausts, center-stands and all the other goodies, so feel good in knowing we've pushed hard to get where we are today, with several members customizing for us!
The FZ6R will never be as popular as any supersport. It's just not fast or agile enough to stand out in a pack. I LOVE MY BIKE but that's the truth. Jack of all trades, master of none.
I agree with MistahT.. and I'm pretty sure that's why I love my bike so much. It's comfortable, and has more than enough sport to have fun on my daily commute.
I like the fact its not so popular and don't see one everyday. I swear I see a GSXR everyday, they are like the prius of the motorcycle world lol. All great bikes but as other have said the "jack of all trades and master of none" is what I was looking for. Comfy, handles good, good power. And really this is one sweet looking bike
Where did you go?
Was it 290 Harleys? none of which are paid off and all of which make their neighbors cringe when the start it?
And did you get a bunch of "hey that's a nice looking bike"?

yes, mostly graphics, except this year they changed the grab bar....
I was eyeing it at the demo ride (guy signing us up was like, so, you probably DON'T want to demo the 6R huh?... nope ), kinda different, but not much.
wish Yamaha would get off their @$$ and at least offer up ABS on more models, way overdue... crap, even Honda has it as an option on the cbr250
