I hadn't considered it before, but I paid attention on my way to work this morning and the 7K buzz is there on my bike. It's noticable, but not horrible.
I guess all bikes have above-average vibration at some rev rate. I had a GS-500 before this and it buzzed at 5K. I assume the manufacturers add engine counterbalancers to help cancel out most of the vibration, but at some magic point they are ineffective.
Luckily for me, my commute does not take me onto the interstate, so I am usually cruising at 5-6K rpms. Bike runs nice and smooth at this rate.
