From supersport to FZ6R?

FWB is about 600 miles away, BUT... I do drive down there from time to time!

I'm thinking about shooting for a $7500 OTD price, does that sound reasonable to y'all for a 2012?

I've ridden a lot of bikes, from 13hp 125's to 180hp R1's.

The FZ6R sits in a really nice niche for a street bike, with plenty of oomph up to 180km/h. It can go faster but it feels like it has to work for it, and after 25 yrs of riding, I am no longer interested in what the top speed of a bike is ~ we have a local 'short' track here where the bikes top out at around 210km/h, so to be able to get to 180k without a lot of drama is good enough for me.

Although there are Supersport bikes that will go faster, you also have to rev them to 13,000+rpm, which just feels like so much work to get the thing to GO. You can't go anywhere these days without getting a photo radar or speed-on-green ticket anyway.

the 6r does still get 40mpg in 6th gear around the 9 to 10k rev range

I don't understand all the HP comparisons. Or any of the other comparisons, frankly. The OP said he's got an SS for when he wants to get crazy, and he's looking for an awesome bike for everything else.

The 6R is an awesome bike for everything else. When the OP misses some power or anything else an SS has to offer, he's got one. For everything else he wishes to do, I personally don't think the FZ6R can be beat.

I'm willing to bet that if the OP were to get an FZ6R, it would see many more miles on it than his SS. The 6R isn't the BEST at anything. But it does EVERYTHING so well... In my honest opinion it is the best of all street bikes, kind of rolled up into one.
