Hello all!

I followed this forum for a long time and contributed just a little bit. Some of you "know me" through my bike... You know, the one with the red seat :D. Here's a few of her last pictures...

And now, my new bike! :D :D

I loved my FZ6R, a great quality and fun bike. This one, is just a tiny bit more bike  ! The sound coming of that thing is amazing... It puts a :D on my face. And yes, those are the same Givi V35 I had on my FZ6R.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you guys and thank every one of you who posted on this forum. I spent countless hours reading you guys... Specially during our long winters up here :surrender:

Yea I agree awesome bike! I didn't realize I liked those until now. Did you keep and of your after market parts?

Thanks guys! I was "affraid" at first by the bigger engine but, it's pretty easy to control. Since the break-in period is pretty long 800km (I'll let you do the conversion in miles :-) ) under 4000RPM and another 800km under 6000RPM, I'll have enough time to get used to it without letting the bike use me!

The bike was sold as pictured. The original parts were sold locally. The only things I have left is the black driver's seat and the stock windshield.

ok well enjoy the bike. Keep us posted about your new 1000 I'd love to hear all about it. But I must say I like it better than the looks of the fz1. Sorry fz1 owners lol.

I also considered the Ninja 1000 as a replacement for the 6R. If not, I plan to use the 6R as a commuter (same as now), and upgrade to a 600cc supersport or something naked like a Ducati Streetfighter or Speed Triple for canyon carving.

I have to say, I was at the dealer getting the plates for my bike, they had my 6R for sale sitting fairly close to a ninja 2012 and I also walked around the kawasaki section.

The ninjas (650, 1000 and zx14) they look a lot better in person. I mean a LOT better. Pictures dont give justice how nice those bikes look.

The only problem of having a ninja in NJ is the very high insurance rate (I asked the guy at the dealer and he said the ninjas are a high target for thieves in Jersey)

Yamaha is gonna have to step up to the plate principally on the 6R. The kawasaki look a lot more modern than yamahas.

Does the ninja 1000 have the same exhaust setup as the z1000? Left 2 cyl on one system and right 2 cyl on another with no crossover? My buddies z1000 is setup like that and it sounds friggin mean, like no other 4cyl bike. The best way to describe it is like 2 ptwins.

Please don't make the same mistake again and replace the black seat with the red one. It looks hideous on the FZ6R and I'm sure will do no better on Ninja 1000.

Awesome looking bike. I don't plan on selling my FZ6R, but when I eventually get a second 1000cc bike I'm not sure what I'm gonna get yet. I see too many ninjas in my area... kind of a turn off if everyone has the same bike. One of the reasons I love the FZ6R here.

Again, great bike though!

I too looked at the Ninja 1000, it is a very nice bike. To me it was close to a sport touring bike but without all the touring options. I would like a sport tourer as a second bike but I would like to have all the options as well.

This model came out last year. It has standard ABS for 2012. Not a biggy but, it's nice to know it's there.

Red seat? Hum...

I guess the Givi luggage is far enough from the dual exhausts. I'll try to avois transporting ice cream in there! :-)

I just need to install my GPS, gear indicator and 3M thank protectors and that's it! It'll be just perfect :-)

The sound coming out the bike is nothing like the crap you can hear on youtube! Its louder and deeper... wow.

Merci Martin!
