Erratic idle?

Quick question from my observation today, I have a tbr black series exhaust and running marthy sport map rev a. Loved the performance of this map. feels like a new bike. I notice at at idle the bike is constantly going between 1k to 1,300 rpm and it's not subtle and I can hear it distinctly. The tbr map that came with the unit idle at 1k flat. Is this normal for anyone with the rev a map? what's the difference between sport map a & b?

Sounds like you have a bad MAP, it is really not a good idea to run MAPs made by auto tuning from someone else ride, a good generic tune is okay, but not a specialized tune.

could be dirty injectors, unsynched injectors, etc etc

Run some fuel system cleaner through there and see if it helps. I run some through my bike every few thousand miles

They both have no fuel trim in the zero column, that should be the same. There is a difference between a cold and warm engine. Then over 200F too. Thats all part of the warm up from the stock ECU. Try different map... those were tyne for the Marthy Viper, not for the TB system... there's quite a difference in the design.

EDIT: Also what Yellowfz said, those are 2 year old map that were not made the way I do today with data logger, Autotune only. It was all butt dyno/eyeball tuning. End up with some of the best map at the time but it's not a custom map at all. Some people tested them and were happy with it.

Seafoam is good stuff. I use it once in a while too. But I won't over think it if I was you. I personally don't really care how the bike idle... I care about how it ride.

Once my own bike is warm it idle fine... you should listen to it at start up.

Thanks Marthy, so there shouldn't be any short/long term damage if the bike idle like that? I went back to using sport rev a, loved the performance too much.

You can play with it a bit. You can copy and paste the map or change it manually. Try to change the zero and 2% column to whatever you have with the TB map to try... won't hurt anything.
