Wow... I seem to spend ages setting up my cue points and making sure the songs work together, but sometimes I still get it wrong and the transition just doesn't work. I can't imagine doing all that on the fly? But then again, I have so much prep done before hand, with my cues and loops with notes on what to do for each, that doing the mix is actually quite boring.
A song starts, and I get the next one ready to go 10 seconds later and sit there waiting for the cue. Even worse if I am coming in hard without any fades etc, and have set up the fade in/out cues, it does it all for me (shhh.. this is supposed to be hard).
Most of what I have done is around 128bpm. Songs that aren't I still usually just play at that speed to no ill affects (usually have keylock on). That last mix I was trying to challenge myself with this. It starts as 110 and finishes at 131. Biggest change is in the start of the 3rd song I am bringing the temp up from 114 to 124 in about 16 bars, but I seemed to have gotten away with it (at 7:25 if interested). It is bit of a build up sequence so it works anyway.
