Well... we went to the International Motorcycle Show yesterday, in Atlanta. Great show, for anyone thinking of going -- Everyone represented, and all the new models, even those six months out from release, were there...
While I'm still (and always will be) a big fan of the 6R, I think I've found my next bike (and it doesn't look like it'll be 09). When I was looking for another bike (and ultimately bought the 6R), also on the short list, was the DL1000 V-Strom. However, it had a few quirks I didn't like, not the least of which was the weight, and seat height. Also, it didn't offer some of the features becoming standard on adventure class bikes, like traction control, adjustable windscreen, ABS, etc.
All that being said... the NEW DL1000 has fixed all that. Reduced the weight, lowered the seat heat (with both a narrower seat profile and lowering seat), re-designed the engine to a 1037cc, better mileage, better handling, and they've redesigned the ugly out of it...
