Man I want one of those but the lack of being able to plug in an external mic to run to my helmet is a deal breaker for me

You don't want an external mic wire hanging from where you mount it. Pro vloggers use a digital voice recorder with a mic wired into their helmet, so like any Olympia voice recorder, ect

Then pair the voice over the video

This may be a dumb question but why do you need an external mic? Do you want to describe the ride as you shoot video?

ps make sure u have rubbing alch ready so you can clean the surface. You also want to let the cam mount cure its mount for 24hrs before riding with it Dont want a $200 camera falling off
