I really don't think that mods are going to help that much. The only thing that could possibly help is gearing. The engine is limited as it is. Unless you start doing engine mods for more power, bolt on's are not going to give you any more speed. Plus, I assume that Yamaha has governed it in some form.

There is a chart somewhere on the net that shows just how lite you get at speeds, pounds of force on the pavement versus weight, you would be surprised at how little down force you have at 135mph, unless you have a foil of something making the down force for you.

Air is a big thing. Just not enough power to overcome resistance. Motorcycles aren't really as aerodynamic as you would think.Isn't that always the way.

There are stretches of highway you can see for 15 miles ahead they are are so flat and desolate. Just saying, sometimes they get tiring and boring, you have to do something to break the monotony in Mexico.

exactly... the amount of space and time needed to get our bike to top speed is unsafe, and you won't find a straight that long on most tracks... track days are fun for the whole experience and you will learn that "going fast" has a whole other meaning then "what's the top end of that bike"...Don't think that is what he was implying...
