it's the Throttle position sensor. it reads 16% with the throttle closed which is normal but only 87% when it's twisted wide open. I would think it would be 100%Reading your post now, could tps translate to 'Throttle Position Sensor'?
If not, what does the acronym mean?
Edit: I just searched (via pdf search) the owners manuals and service manuals (FZ6R & Xj6) to which they make no reference to 'TPS'
so xtina, (or anyone else) what does tps mean?
How much of a difference does it make Martin? I will probably do this and timing trigger in the off season or if weather turns to shite. If you remove the airbox and look at the throttle body, the throttle don't open all the way. The throttle stop need to be file down until the throttle plate are max open.
That was my first mod...

Impact gun is next tool on my list of needs so that will make quick work of the trigger bolt. LOLHard to tell... my bike always ran with the mod done. I imagine its like accelerating with 100% throttle instead of 85%.
Timing mod is simple and quick. That you will fell a good difference at mid range!

I want to get an impact gun anyways. Just gonna pick up a cheap one. I work on my truck and car myself so it would come in handy.Actually go to Lowes and get a 3/8" drive DeWalt cordless impact... worked well. Then return it when you're done LOL (need 12mm socket)
