2013 FZ6R LED Plate Light Install

Hello am curious on how to install an led bar light for a plate light. I have the tail eliminator on. Am using a 12v 2.5 amp led bar light. I'm having trouble find which wire to tap into. Don't know if i should tap into an already fused power source or go to the battery with a fuse myself?? Or if theres another wire in the back i can splice into.

I would just use the old plate light's wire. According to the wire diagram, it should be a blue wire.

I found the wire but it Seems to be shorting Everytime I hook up I blow a fuze. I went and tapped into the tail light.
