Well...I'm 45 yoa 5'6" and 172 lbs and have been riding for years. I have several heavier sport bikes I ride also. Soooo I only put 35 miles on the FZ6R coming home from the dealer Saturday. Today was "test" day. I had a spare jug of HONDA GN4 so I changed the oil only with 35 miles on the ticker. Oil was fairly clean still. Took off from the house and immediately got on the highway at a smooth 90 mph heading for some light twisties. Got to my "ride road" and pushed her a bit with some light twisties. Handled great through all the RPM ranges. On a couple of straight shots I brought her up to 110 mph and the bike was smooth...although seemed to pull a bit harder from 75-85 mph in 6th. At about 90 miles on the odometer the bike seemed to "wake up " a bit and i could feel a bit of power difference along with better throttle response. I break my bikes in just as I ride them. I wear a Shoei X11 so the wind is no problem. I swear by that model helmet! Braking was fine. Only 2 quirks was the seat seemed to buz around 80 mph +- and the mirrors seem a bit far away. Riding position was very comfortable. My unbiased opinion about this bike...is it's great. Best "bang for the buck" bike i have ever bought! I'm really impressed and i've had many, many different sport bikes. I know Yamaha hasn't done well with these bikes (hence the bargain pricing) but if they had marketed it to experienced riders as well (instead of only entry level riders and women) maybe more sales. But...then i wouldn't have got such a good deal ;) cheers

"and women?" Huh? Are you implying that women are NOT/can Not be experienced riders?

I have a local friend who runs her Litre Honda Repsol as good as any guy.+ her sister is on her 2nd busa.

Not to mention all of the ladies on the race circut that would love to have a chat with you!

Gimme a break Insure Gal...Did you not see Yamahas promotion on this bike and who..

they were targeting?? that's all I was talking about. I know plenty of women who ride soooo don't get all juiced up. Don't turn this thread into something it was not intended for. This is just a bike review.
