So far mine has gotten up to 214 in heavy stop and go traffic. It's been so hot here. I wear my jacket, gloves, and helmet but I do wear shorts riding everyday to class. That makes me only half a squid, I think.
What I do is keep plastic safety specs under the seat. I wear them and lift my mirrored visor as needed when it is dark. This is so easy and it avoids carrying the clear visor in a backpack when I don't want to.
Thanks for doing all the hard work. That buzz was driving me nuts! Thanks to your post I now know what the cause is. I did the lazy fix by taping the thing in place with black gorilla tape. Buzz gone. Thanks.
Do yourself a favor and try on an Arai Profile. A 2009 model can be had for $300-$350. Lightweight and excellent quality. You might find a graphic you want.
I took the MSF course and the Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge Academy of Motorcycling course and they wanted us to use the front and rear brake equally. It is a safe and stable way to stop your bike, but does take practice to learn to use effectively. practice, practice, practice.
I believe the bike runs better after tightening the chain, which is done at 600 mile service. Smoother shifting, lower rpm's and more power to the wheel is attributed to tighter chain. Just my opinion.
Mph
I put a GPS nav on mine to check this very thing. I rode a long time this way, and the bike read 2 mph faster than the GPS constistantly. Never any more or less, always 2 mph.
