So I bought some Powermadd handguards and asked a guy at Powermadd which mounting kit to get but after I received it, I found out it doesn't fit. It fits on the clutch side but not brake side. I am wanting to move the brake lever (and everything attached to it) in to the left about half an inch...
Thanks, man. That is actually the exact thought I had this morning but before I tried that I tried the big pliers again and it worked!
After having this issue did you use a K&N filter or not?
I've also attached a few pics of the filter after it's finally removed.
Yea, I've heard of the K&N filters. They will be a good idea from now on, but it's crazy that this one is one so hard since a Yamaha dealer did the oil change last time.
For the strap or chain wrench, I'm not sure I could. I know there isn't a whole lot of room in there so even if I could...
Hello, everybody,
So today I was going to do an oil change myself. I've only had one other oil change while owning the bike and the dealer did it. I read numerous postings on this forum for tips and tricks and thought I was ready to go. I bought everything I needed and bought the oil filter...
I don't think the windshield blasting air at me is an issue. I am pretty tall and I had to lean way down to finally notice the difference. With the way our bikes our, I ride pretty straight up, but I noticed that if I looked straight down (obviously not very useful while riding) almost all the...
I have an HJC IS-17 Intake MC-5 helmet. I will be buying some earplugs for sure. The noise of the motorcycle itself doesn't bother me (I have the stock exhaust and I enjoy the stealthy-ness) it's just the wind noise at high speed.
And I know a quite motorcycle helmet may be an oxymoron, and...
Well I took my first decent length ride today and was going 80-85 mph most of the time (traffic was cruising) and when I stopped and took my helmet off after about an hour and a half, my ears were ringing for an extended period of time because the wind noise was crazy loud inside my helmet. Does...
Update on LED strip turn signals
Yesterday I finally installed my motodynamic flush mounts and Radiantz Sidewinderz LED strips. It was surprisingly easy actually. There is already a DIY post on how to do it so I won't go into too much detail. The hardest part was probably the fact that there...

Do you think something like that would work? It says there is tape on all three sides meaning I could tape it on its side with the LEDs facing forward. It looks like it should work well.
Cool so I'll probably go with those then.
Any comments on which led light strips to get? I've found a couple sites that look like they have decent ones but I'd like to know what kind others riders have installed.
I know I've seen many bikes on here with flush mounts and turn signals in the air scoops, and I know there's been a couple of how to's but I am wondering which lights people actually went with. I am having a bit of trouble finding inexpensive led strip lights that I like for the scoops. Also, do...
I am also curious where you're from. I have the white 2009 FZ6R as well and from Stevens Point. About your post, my bike typically goes into neutral pretty easily, but when I first got the bike I missed neutral quite a few times.
I am looking to get some integrated turn signal mirrors and also some flush mount signals. My question is can I simply splice the wires from the mirror with the wires from the flush mounts? Is there anything else I need to take into consideration?
Thanks for any help,
Cody
I take my gear inside with me when I go to work but I am also a college student and I don't want to bring my helmet, jacket, and gloves along with me all day. That's why I want to leave my stuff on my bike.
I am looking for a good quality, easy to install turn signal integrated mirror. There seem to be a bunch of options on eBay..

So I am just looking for one that attaches fairly easily, stays put at high speeds, and that I can actually see out of.
So what do...
So I've been leaving my helmet locked with my bike, but now it's getting much warmer and I would like to leave my jacket on my bike with one of those cables through the sleeve. Are there any problems leaving a jacket and/or helmet on a bike on a sunny day? I have a Castle Slate jacket...
I've looked around on Google, YouTube, and these forums and haven't found much on how to remove tank decals. I have the white 2009 FZ6R and don't completely mind the decals but would rather have custom decals. It doesn't seem too difficult to remove the decals from the side fairings but the...
