Should be like new with only 1000k. Make sure it hasn't been badly dropped or crashed. Tires are getting old and the stock tires were not the best. Check any service records. There really shouldn't be much wrong with a bike with this mileage. Change all the fluids, new tires, check and lube...
People are just ignorant. The FZ is one of the best all rounders out there especially for the $. Look back on all the shootouts and comparisons done and the FZ beats the pack every time!
Looks to be stock and in good condition. Has it been dropped or crashed? Any leaks? Offer him $3k and see what happens. They are great bikes and you will have many miles of enjoyment. Worth the drive for sure. Good luck!
That's a reasonable price on the mounting. I did mine a few weeks back. Supplied the tires perrelli rosso 2s. $52 each

30 years from now when you open up your new issue of Motorcycle Classics magazine you will find an article on the FZ and it will sing its praises of what a great all a rounder this bike was. All bikes stop production but some never die. Long live the 6R!
If you have an owners manual that has the how to on the fairings. Don't know about the bars but the pipe shouldn't cause any problems. You can go online also for the owners manual.
