So far, 1400 mile new rider. Been down once, but it was in my yard on wet grass. Ripped my elbow and side up on the edge of my driveway as I wasn't wearing any gear. Also did about $100.00 in damage to the bike as well as suffering a bruised ego.
Looks like you had a great time! I'm planning a Fall primitive squirrel hunt/camp and am interested as to how you secured your gear on the FZ6R. I plan to wear backpack and mount a small duffle on the bike.
Despite some minor concerns, I went ahead and modded the airbox the same way JT did. I've got it all put back together except for one piece. I will post pictures soon.
I just got the tank back from the shop and wanted to possibly do the airbox mod before I reinstall. I've read the airbox thread in its entirety and am still not conviced it's good for the bike. Can I get a few more opinions? Thanks in advance!
I've had my 9 and 5 year old sons helping me with all of the mods. Today we pulled the tank to take in for decal removal and painting. All that we have left is to install a charger/adapter, put the tank back on when it's finished at the bodyshop, add decals, clean, and wax. I can't wait...
Past few days....Removed decals, replaced oem windscreen, replaced oem mirrors, installed TRex sliders, installed new ProGrips, installed FE. Just a few more things and she'll be "perfect."
I'm just getting ready to pull the tank to take it in for decal removal and painting. For me, I want the tank to be as perfect as possible, and I'm no expert.
I just finished this project. I didn't support the engine at all. The left side went great, but the right side was much more difficult. I noticed the engine shift ever so slightly with the removal of the frontmost bolt. I was able to get all of the bolts back in, but it was awful tight going...
The wiring harness is crap and seems really cheap. I stopped off at the nearest cycle shop and bought a new set of signals. I haven't hooked everything up yet, but I tested the new lights and they worked great. Hopefully everything works right when I hook it all up. I can't wait to get all...
Now, I cannot even get the lights on the FE to light when directly hooked to a battery. Something must be wrong with the wiring harness. Oh well, looks like I need to contact Competition Werks.
Trying to install a Competition Werks FE on my '12 FZ6R and am difficulty. First, the rear left and front right lights were blinking and no matter how I hooked it up, I couldn't get it corrected. Second, I couldn't get the rear right to flash at all. The second problem could be a bad bulb...
