Greetings from Akron!
I thoroughly enjoyed my FZ6R, have some fond memories on that bike. Let me know if you have any questions on parts/sourcing/pricing, as a I did a bit of modding to mine. This forum is a great community, noted by many of us who are a couple bikes down the road from...
I wanted to avoid looking like I was going on an artic adventure.

So, to clarify, you're asking why two super sports introduced in the 90's, are more popular than and have more aftermarket support, than a sport touring bike released in 09?
:jerk:
To the op, as I stated in Anthony's crash thread, check out the adv rider community forum. Quite a few silver haired, high mileage geezers out there with great track records.
I also ride a snowboard at speeds around 60mph... My idea of crashing is hitting something that does not move...
I think about crashing every day. I'd have to be superstitious to believe talking about it today will make me go down tomorrow. You just said in another thread it's inevitable, so why's it matter ?
There are plenty of people on the adventure rider forum who are well into their senior citizenship and never dropped a beat on the road. Amazing safety info and food for thought on that forum. These guys are also some of the most traveled riders.
Ending my third season on the streets this year. Somewhere around 40k right now. On my sixth bike. Started on 78 gs750 and quickly realized modern technology is my friend. Owned all sorts of sport bikes, including a cbr1000rr, and I have not yet had any mishaps. Haven't even had a bike of mine...
Gotcha. Mine definitely has a little Stink but nothing headache inducing. My gf much prefers the 919 to fz6r. Lots of people who didn't like the stink switched to the side mount cbr900 exhaust. The set of yoshimuras on my bike leave me and my gear smelling like I was on a motorcycle. I don't...
Curious as to why you do not recommend the 919. It's got a bit of a cult following, and for me it's everything the fz6r just couldn't quite pull off, minus the 919's suspension.
Good advice so far guys. I do have a good place to store it in Ohio, it just seems like letting the beast sleep for 6 months then returning to ride it right back to Colorado is going to be a pita. I think I'm definitely leaning towards selling it and if the fz09 is out of my reach I can snag a...
Hey guys I needed some fellow riders advice before I make any brash decisions.
My gf and I are moving to Denver from Ohio in November. We are both traveling light and keeping costs down by not taking a uhaul or trailer.
I have been through a lot of bikes in my 3 years riding, and can tell...
Nah not yet haha. He's on a budget and had a gs500 this season that gave him a bunch of problems. He's owned plenty of 600cc bikes but for the price he paid its perfect for his mainly commuter needs. You can knock 25 hp, but can't knock 80 mpg
The lady and I were leaving our local BBQ joint the other day, stuffed to the brim, about to hop on the 919 to go on a nice leisurely ride. What do I see rolling up, not one, but two white fz6rs. I of course had to go bother them. Really nice couple prob in their early fourties. I opened with...
