I can't legally take my bike to red line in most places. Taking my bike to redline in first gear will put you over most speed limits.

That is highly unlikely, considering it is a totally different design. The FZ8 and FZ1 share a lot of parts because the 8 was based on the same frame as the FZ1. The FZ-09 is totally different because new motor, frame, swing arm, etc. Most likely not going to get much interchangeability.

I would go for either the FZ1 or the FJR. They are two totally different bikes. The FJR would be all touring. The FZ1 can be set up that way, but not factory. The FJR would eliminate your weight limit issue I think....
