Probably because this bike gets better gas mileage at 6-7k then at 3-5k.
The difference between 5th and 6th gear is really small. Why didn't Yamaha make six hear a cruising gear with much taller ratio? Like the corvette
I just find that hard to believe. There is less frictional loses at lower rpm. Why do those members who change the front sprocket get better mpg?
The 6R get the best mileage on my ride around 6500 RPM (less fuel % on the data logger)
We don't gear up to rev lower, we gear up to go faster at a given RPM! LOL
so what you guys are saying is, 30 miles to the gallon isnt good gas mileage...
check your:
tire pressure
air filter
change gas stations
shift at 5-7krpm....
lean forward, not straight up
etc. etc. etc.
