Finally Made Decision...GSXR 600

So i got pre approved just dont know APR or any of that yet until we actually come up with a contract. Been researching for a very good OTD to make them on this so its an easy process. If im not happy with the price ill walk away

update: So i called the dealer today to talk about MSRP OTD on the gixxer and he was trying to tell me that they have to charge me tax and ttl and they could delete the destination but it would still be well over 12.5K without talking trade in and told him from what ive found on the internet MSRP is what i should be able to get. So 11299 OTD is what i want, and thats with Suzuki's customer cash of $300 off from 11,599

I will be upside down on the FZ6R by $1000. Before he told me that it can be added to the loan no problem so not to worry, and today he said that they are gonna have to jump through financial hurdles to add it and it could be a problem. I just dont get it i guess but I think they are trying to get me to agree to 13.5K and umm no thank you. I can always go back to yamaha cuz I already have financing set up for them so.

But I do have another dealer getting me a quote for a 2012 but im sure i will hear the same story. I have no problem keeping the 6R and waiting so they could have my business or not...i wont budge lol

i hear you. everything you said ive already thought of. i have no problem paying the tax and ttl just dont want them to give me estimates and tell me crap that i know is bs, they do the same with cars. My father-n-law can make deals on cars, hes tough and we have always gotten the price ive found doing my research, i figure the bike is no different...

Just a heads up motorcycle sales are down something like 14% in the US this year, try to keep your OTD price the same or lower then msrp. I got my new R6 for 10,000 otd including taxes and whole shabang also call different dearlships within a 100 miles of you and get them to compete just call an ask them for an otd price and then the next dealer and if there price is higher tell them this dealership gave me this price what can you offer. if they just match it and it still seems high tell them they offered that price first and you want them to give you a reason to buy through them. not a bullet proof process but got my otd price down from the original 11750 otd to 10k. All without leaving my house took a few weeks of talking but definitely worth it.

hope that helps

Boom! called a dealer about 50 miles away from me and they have a 2011 they are willing to give me for 11,235 OTD, and wanna look at my trade in and match the other dealers offer on that one. Only down side that it is an 11 and the other dealer only has a 12 and 13. The guy in the other city said hed give me the 12 (black) for MSRP OTD. he told me it was a 13 but they only did black on the 12s so im looking at 11,300 for a 12.

Last bike I bought, they gave me numbers, I said too low, then came by their shop with my new bike which I bought elsewhere - they were like 'man, you shoulda given us a chance', I was like 'I did'.

This time, I reminded them of the previous fall out, and this time they gave me exactly what I wanted without a single gotcha, I swapped bikes and was back on the road in less than 3 hours.

Many insurance companies (regrettably) dont even ask if you took the MSF or not, let alone offer a discount for those that did take it. Atleast that was my experience 2 years ago when got mine.

Sorry to hear that. I guess I went to the right place the first time.
I have state farm and my msf discount is just as much as my 6mo. premium. Over $300 off so $600 off the 12 months. I've only been riding for a year. I'd say that's a pretty good deal and I presume the premiums go down as the years go by. Also factor in the loyalty and good driver discounts based on your DMV record.

Best of luck to Skinz w/ Ins. if he does get the SS!

by comparison, u should be able to get a new 2011 or 2012 R6 for 'easily' under $10k otd imo... I've personally heard of ppl paying $8.7k otd and seen them advertised for $9.7k otd.

so, $11.3k otd for a 2011 GSXR600 still sounds kinda too high, imo... (that's only a few hundred short to what I paid otd for my 2012 R1.).

are Suzuki's markups really that high? I know CBRs usually cost about $700+ more consistently.

Well I was just implying about the value of what u r getting... A 600cc SS shouldn't cost the same or close to a liter SS, imo... And although I know there are ppl that like gixxers & cbrs and are willing to pay more for them, for me at least, if I can get a brand spanking new R6 for around $9k otd, which looks & handles great, why would I pay $2.3k more for a Suzuki or Honda? That's $ I could spend on gears or insurance.

well havent heard anything from the main dealership so i dunno...may have to drive 50 miles to get one but didnt really wanna cuz their customer service isnt very good. Gonna look at other bike options and not just on the gixxer, i do agree with some that the cbr's and gixxers are pricey but who knows if the Yamaha dealer who told me he'd "hook me up" will actually in the end...

if i remember the dealer cost on a gixxer 600 is 9899? about a $1700 mark up so what im trying to get is 11,299 for a 13. Thats with 700 off, then tax ttl....should come out to about 11500 with everything, then take off the $300 in customer cash from Suzuki cuz they get reimbursed for that anyway correct? So it would be 11,200 OTD which i think is a good offer and not a lowball deal. I want the dealer to make $ too but if im not happy then they get no business from me : P

I know the 13 R6 starts at 11980 and yamaha has a trade up deal with $300 more in trade, 1000K off a new bike, and 3.9 financing for 36 months. I would consider the r6 (even though the ergos arent that great since it basically is a track bike) if the price was worth it, like 10K OTD or less would change my mind...BUT i fell in love with the gixxer 600 since 2011....so tough....damn dealers lol
