The one negative about the kangaroo palms is that they get black really easily. If you ride weekly, then they'll be black in a few months- even from just grabbing the handlebars. It's just more noticeable than other gloves due to the light beige color.

I'm failing to see how that's a negative. Wouldn't it be like a badge of honor to know that you're spending enough time in the saddle to turn them black?
Suit has been ordered as well as the Bionic Race Back Protector and the Bionic chest inserts. Got an incredible deal from Riders Discount. I also ordered the Knox Handroid gloves. (Got those from Sportbike Track Gear.) I've actually lost enough weight that my hands have gotten smaller and my XL Teknic gloves are too big now too. Should be in on Friday. I'll post up some pics when I get it in.
I almost bought the handroids this last go around, but I 'settled' for the Teknic xcelerators. I'm glad to see that you speak highly of them, as I have yet to put too many miles on them.
I've noticed that the inside of my index finger has some black on it from the inside of the handle bar, but I'm ok with it.
Unfortunately I paid full price for the gloves from Sportbike Track Gear. Riders Discount (who hooked me up with the suit and armor) isn't a Knox dealer. I was considering getting one of the higher end AStars gloves from them, hoping that I could get the same kind of deal on the gloves. I was really hoping to get the GP Prop Gloves, but I just didn't feel like they, or any of the other high end AStars gloves, felt right on my hands when I tried them on at Cycle Gear locally. I figured since I saved so much money on the suit and armor (More than the cost of the gloves) I'd give them a shot.

The Teknic gloves are great. If I wasn't so weird about buying the same gear over again, I would have probably gone with those again, just in a Large instead of the XL I was wearing.
I did just get home from a ride with my wife using them. They are quite a bit stiffer than I was expecting on the bike. They will take some serious breaking in. That's one thing I did really like about the Teknic's, they didn't really need a ton of break in, nor did the RS Taichi GP-WRX that I had before them. (Those gloves felt incredible right out of the package and I was seriously considering going back to those, but for my aforementioned anal tendency to not re-buy the same gear ) So it's been a while since I've had to really break in a pair of gloves. The discoloration of the kangaroo just means it's getting broken in properly.
The suit came in today. Unfortunately it's too small. I was going to order the 48, two sizes smaller than my current suit. When I called and talked to the sales guy at Riders Discount, he thought with my height and weight I should be in a 46. So I went a head and ordered it in a 46. He basically said if you can zip it up, it'll stretch out and break in. I was just barely able to get it zipped up but it was just way too restrictive. No way that thing was going to stretch out and break in enough to be comfortable. I'm pretty broad in the chest shoulder and it just couldn't work. So I've got to send it back and get the next size up. So it'll be a little while until I can get it back.
sorry to hear that about the suit. I've always heard that saying as well, about if you can zip it up, you are good.
My suit is pretty snug as well, but I can still get a back protector under it, so it must not be too bad.
You could always use it as an incentive to drop even more weight.
Sorry to hear the suit size was off. But I'm sure it'll get taken care of. Hang in there.
Here are what my Handroids look like after about 2 seasons... I have to say that they are holding up extremely well and are very soft and comfy. They are simply the best gloves I've ever owned. I'm a Handroid fan for life.
Speaking of sizing, in addition to a Pilot back protector & chest guard, I also velcro in a KLIM water reservoir inside my Pilot suit liner. To keep the footprint small, I only fill it with about 10-12 fluid ounces, which is about the equivalent of a can of soda. So, it's still very thin and for my usual 2 - 3 hour canyon rides, it's the perfect amount of fluid... I also measured & cut the length of the tube so that it wraps under my suit and the tube head tucks comfortably inside the mandarin collar of the suit. When I stop, I just unzip the top of the suit a little and can easily grab a quick sip of water and tuck it right back. I find that this is way better than carrying a CamelBak, which doesn't jive well with suits with speed humps...
Got the suit in today. Fit is perfect. Quality is far beyond my AGV. Installed the chest armor inserts and put the back protector on when i tried it on. Just snug enough but npt too much. Im planning on a long but easy ride Saturday to break it in. Will have some better info then. Heres a horrible cell phone pic in a funky mirror lol.
