My Triumph Daytona 675 Build Thread

Setting on them is nothing compared to riding them. The Daytona is the most aggressive 600 Class bike on the market, and it can kill you if your not in decent shape.

I worry if the bike would suit me well. I'm 5' 4", inseam of 28-29", and 175lbs. Yeah i'm a bigger guy than the normal joe schmo.

From the reviews about the bike, it seems that its the most uncomfortable bike out there out of all the 600cc's, and puts more strain on your wrist and back than anything else. It's also hard to ride for short people even if you get the lower gel seat, unless you install a lowering kit, but they say that messes up the suspension greatly.

It's mostly known as a track monster but if you ride it on the street, you get tired after 20 minutes.

What are your thoughts?

With that inseam it's going to be hard for you to ride unless your comfortable with only putting down one foot at lights and stuff. I'm 5'9" 174 lbs, 32" inseam and I can still get a finger under my boot when i'm stopped.

The bike is definitely not for the people with strained backs, wrist problems, ETC. Like I said this is the MOST aggressive seating bike in the 600 SS class. You look tucked before your even actually tucked lol, i'll try to get my girl to do some rolling shots of me this weekend to show you all.

Anyway i've rode this bike for 4 hours with no discomfort, i'm in better shape then the average person though. I honestly find the bike comfortable, more so then the R6.

i'm 5'11" and 160# and i feel i fit perfect. I don't know how people on the short side do it. you could get a low gel seat but that gets you what, another inch?

atleast if you are a shorter person, you will be sitting closer to the tank to reach the bars. the seat is much narrower there which in turn helps get your legs down more, thats where i sit.

I rode 2 1/2 hours each way last week and didn't have a problem, except for the backpack full of clothes.

I also agree with your r6 comment, i think its position is more agressive than the 675.

Yeah and that low seat is like your setting straight on the frame, it sucks. I sit all the way against the butt pad myself.

OPINION TIME!

Gold Rearsets, Gold Subframe, and black passenger pegs (for when I have the stock seat on) I know its a crappy photoshop, but I think I like it :)

I like! Beautiful bike man! I have a powder coater right next to my work that is hella cheap. Thinking about getting my rearsets pc'd gold too.

i think the subframe looks awesome. Im terrible at photoshop (i actually tried making a change and it looked like a 3 year old did it), but what if you just did the actual foot peg on the rear set gold and the rest black, same with the passenger pegs.

But i am liking it

To me it wouldn't stand out enough. Black would just blend in. While the gold does the same thing it gives a certain pop that the black just didn't bring out for me.

As far as the passenger pegs go they don't need to be fancy. I'm just doing them black so that I can have them blend in when I do need to have them on.

I wish I had a coater close by! LOL i'm sending all my stuff all the way to Jersey to get it done. Except for the subframe i'm gonna get that painted locally.

all you can do is try it out. photoshop has a way of making things look good/bad, just depends on how it is perceived. I just went out and looked and there isn't a whole lot of material there so it may just be the angle of the pic.

if you do get the rearsets done in gold, and you want to change it up, you can always add more carbon fiber with the heel guards, but they are something like $130.

+1. Carbon fiber would look good with the graphite coloring on this bike.

Also the problem with painting, and even powder coating, your pegs and levers is that eventually it will wear through. So you'll have to keep having them redone, or not ride it much. If it's just a show bike it's no problem. Just a thought.

This I know. I'm getting the thickest coat possible on the rearsets, however I know its going to wear so I will be saving in the mean time for a set of annodized Gold ones :)

Thanks for that tip man, I may just buy a set of the CF heel guards and try it out!
