Sept 2010 Meetup

In my opinion we should continue on. The people that can meet at 10-11 should meet up and if need be, wait for the others who want the rain to dry up. I know this rain will dry up when the sun comes out.
 
Stay tuned for an 8:30am chat! The rain appears to have cleared here in the West... may still be raining out East a bit. I think we'll be fine, they've changed it to "am showers", so when whatever is around clears, we'll be fine. We just need to get a head count and can decide if we need to push it out an hour or so better in a chat, instead of "snail posts":confused:

The rain just stopped here but there is a lot of water laying on the road right now. I'm thinking it should dry up a little before I go out. Race compound tires don't like water! It will take me about an hour and a half to get to Chambersburg. Could we delay an hour or two?
 
And it just started to rain here again...GRRRR!!

And it says it's not supposed to stop til 12...

I'm probably gonna wait 30mins or so and see if it stops. Weather.com says 100% chance of rain til noon. I could deal with road mist, I just don't wanna be soaked since its already rather chilly.

text when you leave (or you decide you can't make it:surrender:), I'll let them know if your not there that you might be running a little late.
 
According to the future map in motion if I could wait 'til 11 to leave I'd probably be in the clear. The problem is I don't think I can make it there in an hour like i did on the way home yesterday due to the water and people driving like crap when it's wet. I'll keep an eye on it. Don, I'll text you in about 20-30 minutes and let you know.
 
I really want to go, especially since I helped organize the event. The rain here wont stop and the roads are terrible (no rain gear). I rode to my work in the car and judging by that ride I'd be soaked in the first 5-10 minutes on the bike. Kinda wishing I lived out west now :( :surrender:

My girlfriend just said the same thing. I'd be holding you all up big time if you waited. It's gonna take me at least 10 minutes to get home, then 5-10 minutes to find a backpack and clothes. Then another 10-15 minute drive to the bike, and another 5-10 minutes to gear up. That's at least 25-45 minutes 'til I'd even be able to take off. Then it's going to be at least a 1.5hr drive to there. I wouldn't get there until after 1.
 
Well next pay check I'm going to see what kind of $ I have and look into getting a tail bag and some form of rain gear. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the route. I'm bummed :(

Stupid Verizon, delaying txt msgs and time stamping them a day late.

Had a great ride, roads were perfect. Good to see you all!
